Titan Life Scene

The final team had moved up to the center of the mall. Three people stood on top of the 2nd level, and 2 people were on the bottom. They had a very simple strategy to attract attention: Chaos. Each one of them took out a submachine gun and starting raining lead into the crowd. Customers innumerable fell dead or grievously injured to the guns. The panic of the crowd was immense, and people began running in all directions.

Beast Boy could already smell blood mixed with cordite as they came within range of the mall. He and Cyborg would near the mall at around the same time, but Beast Boy had picked up the pace by becoming a gazelle. Praying they would get there in time. By the time the mall was within sight, Beast Boy knew exactly how bad it was. The whole place was seeping with the scent of death, blood, and the sulfur-y smell of the cordite in the spent bullets. Enraged, he stormed into the mall, blinded with anger at the seemingly senseless slaughter.

"Why are they doing this? Even Slade doesn't work like this, especially if there's nothing to steal."

Cyborg reached the Mall a few short minutes after Beast Boy did. When he arrived, he instantly sensed death and could smell the horrible stench of blood. Feeling angry, he too rushed inside and was soon standing beside his changling friend. When he heard BB's words, he cried out, "I don't care who's behind this, or what these punks are up to, but they're going down!" He was seriously pissed off. Charging up his sonic cannon, he aimed his weapon at the first killers he saw. Nothing was going to stop him from taking these murderers down...way down.

The mercs noted the arrival of the Titans. The first phase of the mission almost complete, they began to move. The three men at the top pulled out a special type of pistol they had been equipped with. EMP Launchers. They threw out packets of electromagnetic energy that would scramble the systems of any electronic device on Earth. From their strategically superior vantage point, they began raining shots onto the floor, all aimed for Cyborg.

On the bottom floor, one man took out a sonic emitter. It would soon begin throwing out extremely high pitched waves of sound that would drive any animal into severe pain. Unfortunately, these pitches were perceptible by most of Beast Boy's more dangerous forms.

Beast Boy had already began his rush. In the form of a cheetah, he managed to clear the distance between them and the two bottom level people. He viciously tore into the man with his claws, the stench of blood practically driving him to feral rage. However, the second man managed to switch on the emitter in time. Screaming pain tore threw his skull, and he switched into his basic form, tackling the merc to the ground before retreating.

Cyborg was pissed off and was blasting every bad guy he could with his sonic cannon. But when when his sonic cannon suddenly stopped working, he looked up and saw several men shooting at him with some special type of bullets or lasers that was screwing up his system and weapons. He just had to stay out of shooting range. "Is that all you guys got!? I'm not going down that easily!" As he tried to avoid the laser fire, he tried to make his way to the people that were shooting at him. He was determined to take them down and make them pay for the innocents they had just murdered.

Things were not looking so good for the crooks this time around. The man Beast Boy had attacked was unconscious and bleeding on the floor of the mall. Two others had already fallen to Cyborg's cannon. Deciding that their message was delivered, they decided to cut their losses by fleeing the mall. One of the crooks turned his EMP gun on Beast Boy and sent him to the ground in pain. They left their three fallen comrades lying on the ground, making note to pick them up from the jail later on.

Despite the fact that these guns were designed for Cyborg, Beast Boy came to the painful realization that the electric discharge was more then effective on him as well. He tumbled to the ground in a storm of crackling energy, losing consciousness as he fell.

Cyborg saw the men fleeing and wanted to chase them, but when he saw his best buddy being shot down, he knew he had to help him out, no matter how much he wanted to go after those murderers. Reaching Beast Boy's side, he knelt down beside him and sighed in relief when he saw he was only unconscious. Knowing he should get back to Titans Tower, he picked up the unconscious changeling and called Robin as well. "Yo, Robin, you copy?" He had no idea that his other friends were down and temporarily out. Walking back to the T-Car, he wondered, who were those guys?
